JOB OPENINGS IN THE ON- AND OFFSHORE INDUSTRY
Ten years ago, this company saw a gap in the offshore and civil markets and jumped right in with their designs for temporary structures. Now, they boast over 100 employees and a recently opened UK branch next to their Dutch office located in South Holland.
Past projects include the design of the mooring arrangement at the Halogaland Bridge and the modular support frame for the Ocean Cleanup. They also provide major piling templates for the installation of offshore wind farms, as well as cable handling equipment, motion compensation systems and sea fastening, lifting, and pipe handling tools.
They are able to offer complete project assistance from structural designs and stability analysis to fabrication assistance and certification management in offshore wind, oil and gas, heavy civil engineering, salvage, and decommissioning industries. With a team of naval architects, they also set up a Naval Engineering department.
Designs at this company are always a team effort.
This company is looking for a (Project) Engineer and Design Engineer.
Project Engineers are involved in all parts of the process, from design to mobilization. Client requirements are translated into the unique structural and mechanical installation tools needed, and in order to do this, you participate in brain-storm sessions, make sketches and hand calculations and combine these concepts into detailed calculation models and 3D visualizations.
As your creativity directly impacts a contractor’s installation project, you and your team will be faced with challenges on a daily basis. Projects are fast-paced and require constant involvement throughout the design and construction process, which does provide quick and satisfying rewards to your team efforts.
Besides strong technical capabilities, good organizational skills are important. You will coach project members, as well as handle client and internal communications. You make keep an eye on the broader picture, making sure project planning, budget and scope remain up to date.
Design Engineers collaborate heavily with the project’s engineers to create the design concept that incorporates client requirements and will become the basis of the unique installation tools needed. Your work is the first step; where an idea takes shape.
Designers fill important roles within project teams, your input is valuable to project teams as they work on the designs’ conceptualization and development. You set up independent of models and drawings, develop concepts into detailed designs and convey how those should be built and used.
You work on a range of projects, often simultaneously, while additional tasks like quality checks and generating 2 and 3D models may also be part of your job.
For both jobs goes that the hustle and bustle of team work translates to a friendly environment with creative, talented and ambitious people. Making sure to finish ahead of the deadline is hard work, but there is time to have lunch together with your colleagues and to join corporate events on a regular basis.
